The building was built in 1867 and is a Grade II listed located within the Central (University and City) Conservation area in Oxford.

The building has a total of six floors including a basement and a mezzanine and has entrances from the High Street and Alfred Street.

The building has previously been used as a bank and had undergone considerable alterations in the 1950’s with the addition of many reinforced concrete structural elements. The property has now been converted into a high-end restaurant within the basement, ground floor and mezzanine, with apartments on the upper floors.

The project was awarded an Oxford Preservation Trust Award in 2021.
