Post-Fire Restoration
Castle Ashby Estate Office
Location: Northamptonshire
Client: Private client
Architect: Freeland Rees Roberts
Value: £1.2M
The roof of this Grade II listed property was almost completely destroyed after a fire in 2015.
The roof was reformed using green oak trusses to replicate the original roof structure, which were designed to support the floor loading from the first-floor estate office. Repairs were carried out to damaged stone walls, and internal structural steelwork was replaced. The original cast iron columns to ground floor were repaired and reused.
