Post-Fire Restoration
Elizabethan Manor House
Location: Devon
Client: Private client
Architect: Rodney Melville and Partners
Value: £5.3m
This Grade I listed building, originally built in the 17th Century, suffered a devastating fire in November 2012.
A team of historic building specialists were appointed to reinstate and restore the property. Around 80% of the roof structure was lost. A steel framed and softwood roof was reinstated over the part of the area and where possible the original oak framed roof was repaired using oak from the Estate.
