Stuart is a highly experienced civil engineer and environmental consultant with significant experience in hydrology, flood risk and drainage; pre-planning environmental work, including EIA; sustainable master-planning and infrastructure design; environmental compliance and due diligence. With over 40 years’ experience in civil and environmental engineering, Stuart has worked in most industry sectors. His specialist skills include the analysis and conceptual design of engineering solutions through to the assessment of environmental impacts and development of sustainable designs for a wide variety of projects in the water, heritage, natural and built environment sectors. His experience has included a particular emphasis on master-planning, environmental management and regeneration, with a focus on flood risk and sensitive sustainable solutions. With a wide understanding of sustainable, functional solutions whilst appreciating commercial, economic and cultural factors, he has performed the role of Project Director for a significant number of major construction projects and regeneration initiatives working for both the private and public sector. Responsibilities include developing strategies in the disciplines of environment, master-planning, transportation and water, involving assessment, conceptual and subsequent design. Prior to joining SFK, he was responsible for managing the Environment Team in the south of England, developing the UK Natural and Urban Water Group and establishing an environmental capability overseas for a major international consultancy.
